It’s always a mystery how and what to say to introduce where your blog will end up taking you. This is the first time Champion Reading has really entered into the cyber world… other than our website that we’ve had for a few years: www.championreading.com.

Being online and being technologically advanced is the direction the world is going. The best thing to do is accept change and allow it to benefit you – that’s the whole point of innovation.

I would not lay claim to creating some newly advanced technology of any sort, but what is offered at Champion Reading, speed reading, improved comprehension, concentration, and productivity, is certainly here to improve multiple facets of your life. This is not to mention the SAT/ACT preparation course that Power Learning offers to high school students wanting to ace their test the first time or raise their scores from previous tests.

Boasting is not something I regularly do, but I have had some wonderful students come through my doors over the past 28 years. I’ve been blessed to receive letters, phone calls, emails, and run-ins with the parents of some of my students about how my program helped them raise their grades in school, get into Ivy League Schools, get into grad school, and even become doctors and lawyers.

It’s an incredible feeling knowing that I’ve been able to enter their lives for a moment in time and the experience and knowledge gained touched and changed their lives forever. I’m thankful for that – this is an extremely rewarding line of work.

A big project I’ve undertaken lately is writing two books on my methods of teaching speed reading. The first book is an easy overview of how to get you started in the right direction. The second book is a little more advanced for those who have the time and dedication to really stick with the program. Usually what I do is have five, two-hour meetings where I perform drills with the student(s). I want my book to act as if I’m in the room with the reader cheering them on to progress within my program as if they were sitting in my office right in front of me.

I’m almost through with the first book, but I’ll be sure to keep our readers posted on how the book writing process is coming! For now, I just wanted to introduce myself and test the blogging world waters. I hope that you all stay tuned to what’s in store for Champion Reading!
